John graduated from Michigan Tech’s forestry school in 2013, and has held a few different jobs in natural resource management since graduation. He first came to Bay Cliff as a counselor in the summer of 2014, and spent two more summers as the nature instructor before becoming the Activities Director in April of 2018. Bay Cliff is very close to his heart, but he has many other interests that occupy the rest of his time throughout the year! John loves camping, hiking, swimming in Lake Superior, snowboarding, drawing, painting, and cooking. He spends a lot of time in the winter playing hockey at the local rinks, and volunteering with Marquette’s Sled Hockey team. He is excited to call the U.P. and Bay Cliff home.
Roles & Responsibilities
John is Bay Cliff’s Activities Director. He provides direction and support to the teams that make camp feel like a camp. Such essential pieces as Nature, Recreation, Aquatics, Arts and Crafts, and the Program team fall under his responsibility at Bay Cliff. He loves watching and interacting with our children as they learn, grow, and smile from ear to ear as they play, swim, create, explore, and camp in our programs.
