JAck Vander Lugt

Executive director

Jack Vander Lugt serves as the Executive Director of Bay Cliff Health Camp, where he is dedicated to fostering a compassionate and resilient community for children with disabilities and chronic health conditions. A proud graduate of Northern Michigan University and a resident of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula since 2015, Jack has built his career in nonprofit leadership, community outreach, and supporting families across the region.

Living with Type 1 diabetes has shaped his perspective on leadership and service, fueling his commitment to helping young people build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging. He believes every child deserves the opportunity to feel capable and empowered.

Before joining Bay Cliff, Jack led nonprofit outreach and volunteer engagement efforts throughout the Upper Peninsula and held leadership roles with organizations focused on caregiving, caregiver support, and volunteer development.

Grounded in a deep respect for Bay Cliff’s traditions and legacy, Jack is committed to carrying that legacy forward while helping to shape the camp’s future for generations of campers and families. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, exploring the Upper Peninsula, cooking, and staying active in his faith and local community.
